Personalised lessons in Maths, English, Science, History and more for every learner — with specialist support and coaching for children with ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and executive function challenges.
My goal is to provide personalised, engaging learning experiences that help every child build confidence and reach their full potential. Every learning plan is built around your child's needs and your family's preferences.
At Back 2 Basics, our mission is to empower every learner through personalised education, compassionate support, and evidence-informed teaching. We believe that every child has the ability to learn, and our role is to nurture confidence, celebrate progress, and build the strong foundations that lead to lifelong success.
From core school subjects to specialist coaching, every learner is different — which is why each service is built around your child's individual profile.
Personalised lessons in Maths, English, Science, History and more — for every learner, from those who just want extra support to those working toward top marks.
Structured, engaging sessions with short focused work blocks, movement breaks, and consistent routines — plus dedicated ADHD coaching for attention span and self-regulation.
Multi-sensory, structured literacy teaching that breaks reading and spelling into clear, sequential steps at a pace that suits your child.
Concrete, visual, and hands-on approaches to number sense and mathematical reasoning that build genuine understanding, not rote memorising.
Independent guidance for parents navigating school choice, curriculum decisions, assessments, and learning support planning.
A structured, curriculum-aligned homeschool programme delivered live online — the rigour of a full teaching programme, without losing flexibility.
Practical coaching in planning, organisation, time management, and study skills — the behind-the-scenes skills that make every subject easier.
Four principles guide every lesson, every plan, and every conversation with parents.
No two learners are alike, so no two learning plans should be either.
Confidence grows fastest where effort is noticed and progress is celebrated.
Ability is built, not fixed — mistakes are part of learning, not something to fear.
Parents are partners, not bystanders, with regular, honest communication.
Ongoing programmes reserve a weekly lesson time, an individual learning plan, personalised resources, progress monitoring, and priority scheduling.
International rates are billed monthly in USD for families outside South Africa.
Tuition is billed monthly across the year, including school holidays, as it reserves your child's dedicated lesson time. Full terms are shared at enrolment.
A few words from families and students I've had the privilege of working with.
Monique is a great tutor! Very patient and professional. We would highly recommend her.
Monique is an exceptional maths teacher who truly makes learning enjoyable. Her clear explanations and patient teaching style have helped me understand challenging concepts with ease.
Thank you Monique. I can see that Adnan is improving in Maths. Adnan has an attention issue, and the repetitive method you designed for him is truly helping him. He dislikes learning Maths but not with you.
Monique is so kind. I have improved so much over the last year and she really gets me to my goals.
She's an exceptional tutor. She gets ready for each lesson thoroughly, explains maths problems in a clear way, and always shows a polite attitude with a positive vibe!
An outstanding tutor! Very attentive and knowledgeable. Looking forward to seeing you next time!

All lessons take place live online via Google Meet, so your child is taught face-to-face from home.
Yes — every learning plan is personalised, whether that means ADHD-friendly strategies, Dyslexia or Dyscalculia support, or general academic support.
As lesson times are reserved exclusively for your child, missed lessons due to illness, holidays, or personal commitments are forfeited and tuition remains payable.
Both. Ongoing weekly programmes are available, alongside flexible hourly consultations for exam prep, assessments, and catch-up at R400 per hour.
